NEW MOON IN LEO

From the 8/8 Portal Into a New Beginning

Release • Realign • Rise

Before you read another word...

Place both hands over your heart.

Take 3 slow breaths in...

...and 3 slow breaths out…

Welcome Home

Now ask yourself:

"What am I ready to leave behind so I can step more fully into the life that is calling me?"

Stay with that question for a moment.

Because This New Moon Is Different.

Only days before the New Moon in Leo, we moved through the 8/8 Lion's Gate Portal—a spiritual gateway many associate with courage, expansion, heightened awareness, abundance, and stepping more consciously into our purpose.

And now…

We arrive at a New Moon in Leo.

The sign of the Lion.

The sign of the heart.

The sign that reminds us that sometimes the next chapter of our lives requires something very simple...

The courage to show up for our own lives.

🦁 THE 8/8 PORTAL — WAS THE THRESHOLD

The number 8 has long been associated symbolically with abundance, balance, power, and infinity.

Turn the 8 on its side and we see the infinity symbol:

A reminder that life is always moving...

Always expanding...

Always inviting us into another expression of ourselves.

Within modern spiritual traditions, the 8/8 Lion's Gate Portal is viewed as a period of heightened energetic alignment associated with the Sun in Leo and the ancient symbolism of Sirius.

But perhaps the most important portal isn't somewhere in the heavens.

Perhaps the portal is within us.

8/8 becomes an invitation to ask:

Am I willing to step up in my own life?

Am I willing to stop waiting for permission?

Am I willing to trust what my heart has been whispering?

Am I willing to live as the person I keep saying I want to become?

Because walking through a portal means very little if we continue living exactly as we did before.

The doorway may open...

But we still have to choose to walk through it.

🌑 AND THE NEW MOON IN LEO INVITES YOU TO COME HOME AND ALIGN YOURSELF WITH THE CURRENT ENERGIES OF WHO YOU ARE BECOMING

Just days after 8/8, the sky becomes dark beneath the New Moon in Leo And a Solar Eclipse.

And I find the symbolism beautiful.

First...

The portal asked us to step forward.

Then...

The New Moon asks us what cannot come with us. And it is backed up by a Solar Eclipse on the same day as the New Moon In Leo

At The Mindful Journey, we work with New Moon energy as a sacred opportunity to release what no longer serves us and intentionally create space for what we are ready to cultivate.

And Leo brings that work directly into the heart.

This isn't simply:

"What do I need to get rid of?"

It is a much deeper question:

"What can no longer remain if I am truly going to become the person I know I am capable of being?"

Perhaps it is...

The belief that you're not ready.

The fear of being seen.

The habit of putting everyone else's needs before your own.

The voice that tells you you're too old...

Too late...

Too much...

Or somehow not enough.

Perhaps it is simply an old version of yourself that once kept you safe...

but can no longer take you where you're going.

Thank that version of you.

Honor them.

And then gently say:

"You don't have to carry me anymore."

This is the rhythm of this New Moon.

Release.

Not from anger.

Not from judgment.

Not because something was wrong with you.

Release with gratitude for what carried you this far.

Then...

Create space.

Breathe.

Become still.

Listen.

Because when we stop filling every empty space with noise, our hearts have room to speak.

And finally...

Set your intention.

Not merely for something you want to have.

Set an intention for who you want to be.

Find somewhere quiet.

Light a candle if that feels meaningful to you.

Place both hands over your heart.

Close your eyes.

Take 3 slow breath in...

...and 3 breaths out.

Then ask yourself:

What am I ready to release because it no longer reflects who I am becoming?

Write down whatever comes.

Don't judge it.

Don't analyze it.

Simply allow it to be witnessed.

Then ask:

What am I ready to cultivate in the space I am creating?

Perhaps it is...

✨ Courage

✨ Peace

✨ Confidence

✨ Joy

✨ Creativity

✨ Self-trust

✨ Authenticity

✨ Love

Choose one.

Place your hands back over your heart.

And say:

"I choose this.

Release what cannot accompany that version of you forward and set intentions for the life you are ready to cultivate.

And then comes perhaps the most important part...although seemingly hard at first

Live it.

Not perfectly.

Not all at once.

One mindful choice at a time.

One courageous boundary.

One honest conversation.

One dream finally acted upon.

One moment when you choose yourself instead of abandoning yourself.

One breath when you remember...

I am still here.

I am still becoming.

And I am allowed to step fully into my own life.

💛 NEW MOON AFFIRMATION

I lovingly release what no longer serves the person I am becoming.

I honor everything that has brought me to this moment, and I give myself permission to move forward.

I trust the wisdom of my heart.

I choose courage.

I choose authenticity.

I choose to step up in my own life.

And with every mindful breath, I continue coming home to myself.

Remember

The New Moon is not asking you to erase who you have been.

But rather letting you know that

The next version of your life requires the next version of your participation.

The doorway is open.

The heart knows the way.

Take the next step.

.

With Love and Gratitude
