Autumn Equinox: Embracing Balance and Change
May The Dark Within Transform Into Light
Autumn Equinox: Embracing Balance and Change
As the warm days of summer begins to lesson, we find ourselves approaching one of the most powerful moments in the cycle of the year:
The Autumn Equinox, A Day Of True Balance.
This celestial event, which will occur September 22nd 2024 at 7:43 AM CST, marks the time when day and night are in perfect balance—equal in length. From this point, the nights will gradually grow longer than the days, which in turn draws us inward as well, both literally and metaphorically.
The Equinox serves as a beautiful reminder of the natural balance in all things. Just as the earth finds its moment of equilibrium between light and dark, we too are invited to have balance in our own lives. Are we harmonizing our external efforts with inner peace?(think sacred space). Are we giving ourselves the same energy we give to others? Are we allowing toxic energies to remain out of fear?
What in Your Life Is Preventing You From Achieving Balance?
This is the time to realign those areas where we may feel out of sync and create a sense of harmony.
The Power of Balance
In many traditions, the Autumn Equinox represents the harvest season—a time to reap the rewards of what has been sown during the year. Whether those are actual crops or personal goals, the energy of this moment is about receiving and appreciating the fruits of your labor. And, as we gather what we’ve grown, we can also assess where balance has served us, or where imbalance has hindered our growth.
Balance isn’t just about things being equal—it’s about flow. The equal light and darkness of the Equinox remind us that both are necessary. Light brings clarity, action, and vitality, while darkness offers rest, reflection, and deep transformation. Together, they create wholeness just as we can when we learn to remain in flow.
As we move into autumn, we’re encouraged to embrace the quiet and shadow as much as the quiet and bright, knowing that both are essential parts of our journey.
Ways to Honor the Equinox
Reflect on Your Harvest
What have you achieved this year? What have you learned? Whether it’s a small personal triumph or a major life shift, take time to acknowledge your growth. Try journaling/writing down your reflections as this can be a powerful way to document your journey.Create Balance Rituals
Meditate, sit in silence for a few moments, feeling into where you need more balance. If you’ve been overly focused on work, perhaps this is a time to slow down. If you’ve felt too passive, maybe it’s time to take more deliberate action.Celebrate with an Autumn Feast
The Equinox is traditionally a time of abundance and gratitude. Gather seasonal foods like apples, squash, and root vegetables to create a meal that honors the earth’s harvest. Share this with others in the vibrational state of love to celebrate the turning of the season.Ground Yourself in Nature
Take a walk in the crisp air, noticing the changing leaves, the cooler winds, and the gradual shift in the environment. Ground your energy in nature during this time to help you tune into the natural cycles of the earth and find your balance within them.
The Season Of Transformation
The Autumn Equinox not only brings balance but also ushers the season of transformation. As the earth prepares for winter, we too begin to release what no longer serves us. This is the time to let go of old habits, thoughts, or patterns that are keeping us from moving forward. Just as the trees shed their leaves, we are encouraged to release what no longer serves our highest good and create space for new growth..
Use The Autumn Equinox As A Time To Pause, Breathe, And Reconnect With The Cycles Of The Earth.
In the dance between light and dark, action and rest, give and receive, you will find your balance. And in that balance, you’ll discover the strength to move gracefully into the next chapter of your life.
Wishing you a most beautiful and harmonious Autumn Equinox
Bright Blessings
Love and Light Always
